The short version: Kyndyn is designed to help families, not advertise to them. We do not sell personal information, show third-party ads, or track people across apps and websites.
Information you provide
Kyndyn lets a household create profile names, quests, schedules, completion history, progress, rewards, and announcements. This information is used only to provide the app’s family-planning and progress features.
Storage and family synchronization
Kyndyn works locally on your device. If you enable family synchronization, household information is stored in the household owner’s private and shared Apple CloudKit databases so invited household members can access it. Apple processes this information under its own privacy terms. Kyndyn does not operate a separate account system and does not ask for an email address to create a Kyndyn household.
Notifications
If you enable family announcements, Kyndyn uses randomly generated household and device identifiers plus an encrypted Apple Push Notification service token to route notifications to connected devices. The notification service does not store household names, profile names, quest titles, calendar details, precise location, PINs, or notification message bodies. Limited delivery records are retained temporarily to prevent duplicate delivery and diagnose failures.
Calendar
Calendar access is optional. When enabled, selected calendar names and event details are read on your device to show upcoming events. Kyndyn does not change your calendars, send calendar details to the Kyndyn notification service, or include them in household synchronization or backups.
Weather and location
Location access is optional and is requested only while you use the app. Your location is used to request local weather and a nearby city or town. Precise location is not saved, included in household synchronization, or sent to the Kyndyn notification service. You can disable location access in system Settings.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and your Apple Account. Kyndyn receives only the information needed to determine whether Premium access is active. We do not receive or store your payment-card details.
Device security
An optional Kyndyn PIN is stored only in the device Keychain as protected verification data. Face ID, Touch ID, and device-passcode authentication are handled by Apple’s system frameworks. Kyndyn does not receive or store biometric data.
Data we do not use
We do not sell personal information.
We do not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
We do not use household content for advertising.
We do not knowingly collect health, financial, or biometric information.
Your choices and control
You can decline optional calendar, location, and notification permissions or turn them off in system Settings. Parents can edit or remove household content in Kyndyn, disconnect a local household, revoke notification access, and manage CloudKit sharing through Apple’s interfaces. Removing the app deletes its local data; synchronized CloudKit information may remain available to the household owner and other participants until it is removed from the shared household.
Children and families
Kyndyn is intended to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian. Children should not submit contact information or other sensitive personal information in quest titles, announcements, or other free-form fields.
Security and retention
We use Apple platform protections, encrypted network connections, access-controlled CloudKit sharing, encrypted notification tokens, and data-minimizing service records. Local and synchronized household information remains until a user removes it through Kyndyn or the relevant Apple service. Notification registrations remain until revoked, disabled, or invalidated; short-lived delivery and pairing records expire automatically.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Kyndyn changes. The effective date above will be revised when material changes are published.
